Zusammenfassung
Die im Licht gemessene O2-Entwicklung oder CO2-Fixierung einer Pflanze wird Netto-Photosynthese oder apparente Photosynthese genannt. Sie setzt sich zusammen aus der reinen Photosynthese oder Brutto-Photosynthese abzüglich der Atmung. Sauerstoff, der im Blatt durch die Photosynthese gebildet wird, kann zum Teil gleich wieder im Blatt veratmet werden (Abb. 63). Im Licht läuft die Atmung zum einen über die auch im Dunkeln vorhandene „Dunkelatmung“ zum anderen über die Lichtatmung oder Photorespiration ab. Die Lichtatmung kann ein Vielfaches der Dunkelatmung ausmachen. Einen Vergleich zwischen Dunkel- und Lichtatmung zeigt Tab. 21.
