Zusammenfassung
Wenn man von der Darmflora spricht, meint man die im Darmlumen vorhandenen Keime, die mit den Fäzes den Enddarm verlassen. Während die einzelnen Teile des Intestinaltrakts nach Zahl und Art der Keime recht unterschiedlich besiedelt sind, findet sich die Hauptmasse der Darmkeime im Enddarm. Der Dickdarminhalt besteht zu 10–30% aus Bakterien. In den Fäzes muß man mit Ge-samtkeimzahlen von 1−5 × 1011 = 100−500 Milliarden Keimen pro Gramm Fäzes rechnen [21,24].
