Abstract
In the first part the basic notions of LPI theory are explained. The information and decision aspects of this theory and the application of some important theorems are considered. Moreover, a short survey of the contribution made by Menges to LPI theory is presented. Particularly, his contribution to fuzzy models of multiple-objective decision making (MOD) is discussed.
The second part of the paper is devoted to the further development of the LPI methods in the analysis of LPI-MDD-models. It begins with the simple model, then, competitive LPI weightings are considered, LPI-MOD-models under uncertainty in particular merit attention because of their important practical applications. In the LPI-Goal Programming the simple and uncertainty models are explained. Some theorems are proved and the stability and forecasting interpretation of the optimal strategies are discussed. The case of fuzzy targets is considered too.
