Abstract

This chapter is based on the writer’s own experience and memory as an associate member of a Balint group run by Michael Balint himself at University College Hospital, and on a dialogue with two other previous members of the same group. It, therefore, reflects the experience of only three of its members but it also contains factual information based on transcripts of the seminars. The writer was an associate in the group during the last three years of Michael Balint’s life. The two members with whom she later discussed the group were a General Practitioner and a doctor working in Occupational Medicine.
