Subzonobiome VIIa of the Arid Semi-Desert in the Caspian Lowland

  • Chapter
Ecological Systems of the Geobiosphere

Abstract

The semi-deserts are transitional between the steppes and the deserts and thus constitute a sub-zonoecotone between subzonobiome VII and subzonobiome VII(rIII). We designate the semi-deserts with VIIa; that is, they are more arid (a) than the steppes (VII).
