Zusammenfassung
Schon bei einer oberflächlichen Durchsicht der Literatur der letzten zwei Jahrzehnte findet sich eine Vielzahl von Arbeiten, die sich mit der Ätiologie des Lungenkrebses1 beschäftigen. Früher wäre es üblich gewesen, in einem Handbuchartikel eine möglichst vollständige Literaturübersicht zu geben. Dies ist heute wegen der Fülle der Literatur nicht mehr möglich. Man ist also zu einer Auswahl gezwungen, die insoweit subjektiven Gegebenheiten unterliegen mag, als besonders wesentlich erscheinende Schwerpunkte herausgestellt werden. Nicht zitierte Arbeiten mögen deswegen aber nicht weniger wichtig sein als die zitierten.
