Zusammenfassung

Nicht nur ihrer quantitativen, sondern auch ihrer qualitativen Bedeutung wegen haben unter den Störungen des Kohlenhydrat-und Fettstoffwechsels der Diabetes mellitus und die extreme Fettsucht einen besonderen Stellenwert für den Anästhesisten. Beide sind häufige Begleiterkrankungen bei chirurgischen Patienten, die eine beträchtliche Risikoerhöhung bedeuten. Präoperative Vorbereitung und Anästhesieführung bei diesen beiden Krankheitsbildern werden deshalb ausführlich beschrieben. Abschließend wird kurz auf andere Erkrankungen des Kohlenhydrat-, Fett-und Harnsäurestoffwechsels eingegangen.
