Abstract
This paper is a preliminary report of the “CNR cross-sectional case-control study of focal cerebral ischemia in young adults” (CNR PFMPR SP4 OB. 38) [1]. Eight neurological departments are participating in this study: four in northern Italy (Genoa, Milan, Padua, Parma), three in central Italy (Florence, L’Aquila, Rome) and one in southern Italy (Messina). The final sample will consist of 350 patients of ages between 15 and 44 years, and 700 controls.
