Abstract

It is not mere chance that the Cardiologic Section of the Medical Association of Slovenia is the most important initiator of organized action in the domain of prevention and control of cardiovascular diseases (CVDs). These conditions present our main health concern not only because of their widespread occurrence, but also because of recent research results which give us hope that we will be able to influence favourably this sort of disease in the near future.
