Résumé
La presente étude se propose de passer en revue les problèmes d’efficience et d’efficacité que soulève la mise en question de la fonction d’éducation de la population pour la santé. Placée dans le cadre de la théorie des systèmes, la discussion nous permet de dégager á la lumière des theses optimistes, pessimistes ou moderées, des lignes structurales et stratégiques susceptibles de satisfaire á la finalité du système de Santé dans sa préoccupation de persuader les individus et les communautés á prendre la responsabilité dse leur santé en adoptant des habitudes hygiéniques favorables á la promotion et á la protection de leur bien-étre physique, mental et social.
