Summary
The current state of physiotherapy and sports in rehabilitation was considered based on empirical research begun in 1978. The research was carried out with regard to special diseases in twenty-nine rehabilitation clinics in the Federal Republic of Germany.
As the sample test shows, the application of physiotherapy and sports in rehabilitation clinics is non-uniform in quality as well as quantity (even in clinics with patients in the same disease state).
A general concept concerning the third phase of rehabilitation could not be ascertained from the research at this date.
