Zusammenfassung

Es gibt nicht wenige Anhaltspunkte für die Hypothese, daß schizophrene und schizophreniegefährdete Menschen wesentlich, vielleicht sogar in erster Linie an einer Störung der Informationsverarbeitung leiden. Hinweise auf eine solche Hypothese sind sowohl organisch-biologischer wie auch sozio- und psychodynamischer Art. Sie hat nicht nur einige interessante und z. T. recht neue therapeutische Konsequenzen, sondern eröffnet möglicherweise auch ein besseres Verständnis für die Wirkungsweise gewisser längst bekannter Behandlungsverfahren.
