Zusammenfassung

Die akuten entzündlichen Erkrankungen des Zentralnervensystems (ZNS) können eine verschiedenartige Lokalisation und Ausbreitung aufweisen: Befall der weichen oder harten Häute des ZNS (Leptomeningitis oder Pachymenintitis), Befall des Gehirnparenchyms (Enzephalitis), Befall des Rückenmarks und/oder seiner Wurzeln (Radikulomyelitis), Befall von Gehirn und Rückenmark (Enzephalomyelitis), Befall des gesamten ZNS mit seinen Hüllen (Meningoenzephalomyelitis).
