Concert Hall Acoustics

Part of the book series: Springer Series in Electrophysics ((SSEP,volume 17))

Abstract

In this chapter, the sound transmission system from a source to a listener is discussed. Considering time-domain processing in the auditory system, the sound source is described in terms of the autocorrelation function. The medium consisting of air and boundaries is expressed by the pressure transfer function or the impulse response. The hearing system including the nervous system is briefly introduced.
