Abstract
At the Fifth International Histocompatibility Workshop, HLA-B16 was defined on the basis of several local designations, including U18, Te64, Ao81, and Da31. Two splits of B16 were reported during the Sixth International Histocompatibility Workshop [1]. These splits, B38 and B39, were later reported to be strongly associated with Bw4 and Bw6, respectively [2].
