Abstract

The seven sera used to define B18 were 9w189, 190, 193, 194, 196, 197, and 198 (Table 1). Serum 9wl77 was also included in the central analysis, though it was primarily reactive with B35 and B51. On the basis of the 2x2 analyses, the most specific sera were 196 and 198, the other five sera having extra reactions with B35, B51, B14, and Cw8, and various parts of the haplotypes A1, B8, DR3, and Cw7. DR3 reactivity was noted in sera 189 and 197.
