Abstract
Many methods are available for investigation of pelvic masses, including history-taking physical examination, conventional radiologic methods such as plain films, urography, barium enema, lymphography, and angiography, and more sophisticated imaging techniques such as ultrasonography, CT, and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR). With respect to original of the mass, space-occupying lesions can be generally classified into the following categories: tumors of the genitourinary and intestinal tract; malignant lymphoma; soft tissue masses; bone tumors; metastases; pseudotumors, e.g., hematoma, abscess, aneurysm, lymphocele, urinoma, fibrosis.
