Incidence of Klinefelter’s Syndrome

Klinefelter’s Syndrome

Abstract

While about 2% of all infertile men have a congenital chromosomal aberration, among men with azoospermia the figure reaches 15% (Schmid and Schmidtke 1983). The most frequent chromosomal aberration is Klinefelter’s syndrome, which is associated with small, solid testes with hyalinized tubules, missing spermatogenesis, and infertility. The only possible therapy is substitution.
