Abstract

Modern resuscitation does not owe Norway a vast number of contributions. Most important is probably the development of the training manikin “Resusci Anne” by Asmund S. Laerdal, from Stavanger, which has been a “lady companion” to many resuscitation instructors throughout the last 20 years. Although the milestones are few, please allow me to begin with a remarkable one, even if it dates back to the beginning of the twentieth century.
