Ischämische Erkrankungen des Dickdarms können in solche unterteilt werden, die vom Verschluß eines großen Gefäßes herrühren, und solche, die ohne diesen auftreten. Was auch immer die Ursache ist, die Reaktion des Darmes und damit das klinische Erscheinungsbild und sein Verlauf sind die gleichen [1–5, 7, 16, 17].
