Zusammenfassung

Die Vielzahl ätiologischer, anatomischer und physiologischer Faktoren macht eine befriedigende Klassifikation der Herzklappenerkrankungen schwierig. Da das Buch die klinische Kardiologie beschreibt, wird eine auf den klinischen Befunden basierende Klassifikation benutzt. Sowohl die Mitral- als auch die Aortenklappenfehler werden in Insuffizienzen und Stenosen eingeteilt. Das kombinierte Mitralvitium (Stenose und Insuffizienz) wird in einem gesonderten Abschnitt abgehandelt. Die Pulmonalklappenfehler wurden bereits in Kap. 11 dargestellt. Den Trikuspidalfehlern und Mehrfachklappenerkrankungen ist Kap. 13 gewidmet.
