Für die individuelle Situation eines Patienten mit einem malignen Tumor ist neben der Histomor-phologie vor allem das Ausmaß der Ausbreitung zum Zeitpunkt der Diagnose bzw. der Ersttherapie von entscheidender Bedeutung. Die Ausbreitung des Tumors bestimmen wir durch das sog. Staging.
