Abstract
The clinical material of the author consisted of 487 patients with carcinoma of the larynx:
-
180 (=37%) underwent horizontal partial laryngectomy,
-
105 (=21%) underwent vertical partial laryngectomy,
-
144 (=30%) had a total laryngectomy, while
-
49 (=10%) had other kinds of reconstructive surgery, and
-
9 cases (=2%) were treated by radiotherapy alone.
