Zusammenfassung

Eine Rückenmarkschädigung führt immer zu einer schweren Beeinträchtigung der sexuellen Funktionen der Genitalorgane. Fälschlicherweise wird bis heute der Verlust der ungestörten Sexualfunktion dem Verlust der sexuellen Empfindung bzw. Sexualität gleichgesetzt. Das Bild des impotenten querschnittgelähmten Mannes und der empfindungslosen passiven querschnittgelähmten Frau prägen die Einstellung der Nichtbehinderten gegenüber dem Querschnittgelähmten. Leider glauben auch viele Querschnittgelähmte selbst und ihre Partner, daß sie aufgrund ihrer funktionellen Behinderung auf sexuelles Erleben verzichten müssen.
