Zusammenfassung
Die seit 1975 in der klinisch nichtinvasiven Diagnostik eingesetzte Ganzkörper-Computertomographie nimmt heute auch außerhalb der Schädel-Hirn-Region einen festen Platz ein. Aufgrund der heute noch relativ langen Scanzeit ist der Einsatz der Computertomographie am Herzen bisher noch eingeschränkt. Trotzdem hat die Computertomographie in ihrem jetzigen Entwicklungsstand bei einzelnen Indikationen die Diagnostik von kardiologischen Erkrankungen erweitert und bildet als nichtinvasives Untersuchungsverfahren eine Ergänzung zur Echokardiographie, Ventrikulographie und Koronarographie (Felix et al. 1978; Lackner u. Thurn 1980).
