In den letzten 20 Jahren hat sich die operativ korrigierende Skolioseoperation sowohl von dorsal [4] als auch von ventral [2] als anerkanntes Operationsverfahren weltweit durchgesetzt Dank technischer Fortschritte und zunehmender Erfahrung der auf diesem Gebiet tätigen Zentren sind auch die Probleme von Seiten der Anästhesiologie und der Nachbehandlung weitgehend als beherrscht anzusehen.
