Abstract
Forensic medicine is a special branch of medicine because of its peculiar problems and their interpretation by means of specific methods. It concerns itself with research into and clarification of such questions as arise in practical legal administration which can be answered only with the help of medical and scientific knowledge. The medical questions resulting from a legal case have to be debated according to viewpoints foreign to general as well as nautical medicine.
