Zusammenfassung

Durch eine Vereinheitlichung der Nomenklatur, eine international allgemein übliche histologische Klassifikation und eine Standardisierung der Tumoreinteilung ist es in den letzten Jahren gelungen, bei malignen Tumoren der Schilddrüse Faktoren zu erkennen, die die Prognose der Erkrankung signifikant beeinflussen. Diese Befunde haben entscheidenden Einfluß auf die Indikation zu therapeutischen Maßnahmen, Bewertung gewisser Krankheitsstadien und der Verfahrenswahl chirurgischer Methoden [7, 14,23].
