Zusammenfassung
Die Weltgesundheitsorganisation (WHO) hat für Screeningverfahren die folgenden Kriterien aufgestellt:

Das Krankheitsbild sollte Screeningverfahren rechtfertigen.

2.
Aufgrund des Screeningprogramms sollte eine Verbesserung der Endresultate zustande kommen.
-
3.
Durch einen positiven Screeningtest sollte die Behandlung und damit der natürliche Verlauf der Erkrankung beeinflußt werden.
-
4.
Das Screeningverfahren sollte bei Zielgruppen mit entsprechend erhöhtem Risiko anwendbar sein.
-
5.
Das Screeningverfahren muß eine hohe Sensitivität, Spezifität und Akzeptanz aufweisen.
-
6.
Es sollten ausreichende diagnostische Resourcen für Patienten mit positivem Testergebnis zur Verfügung stehen.
-
7.
Die Patientencompliance sollte hoch sein.
-
8.
Eine Kosten-Nutzen-Analyse des Vorgehens sollte positiv ausfallen.
-
9.
Die Vorteile für den Patienten sollten ein mögliches Risiko überwiegen.
