Zusammenfassung
Eine infektiöse oder virale Genese der akuten Polyneuroradikulitis ist bisher nicht bewiesen, wenngleich dies von Guillain selbst bereits diskutiert wurde. Das Guillain-Barré-Syndrom tritt jedoch bekanntlich nicht selten im Gefolge der verschie-densten Infektionskrankheiten auf. Beim Botulismus auf der anderen Seite steht auch heute noch in Diskussion, ob die tetraplegischen Bilder Ausdruck einer Polyneuropathie oder Folge einer neuromuskulären Transmissionsstörung sind.
