Abstract
The inelastic collision processes between electrons and ions are considerably more complex than radiative processes, considered in the preceding chapter. In the present chapter, we consider the excitation processes in electron-ion collision at non-relativistic energies of the incident electron. After some introductory remarks, we shall give a detailed account on the existing theoretical descriptions of these processes and compare their results with experimental data.
