Zusammenfassung
Erst seit einigen Jahren ist bekannt, daß auch die Beta-Rezeptoren-Blocker die Serum-Lipide verändern können [31, 32]. Es wurde in diesem Zusammenhang eine Erhöhung der Triglyceride bzw. der “very low density”-Lipoproteine (VLDL) und eine Verminderung der “high density”-Lipoproteine (HDL) beschrieben [41]. Eine Erhöhung der VLDL bei Abnahme der HDL bedeutet nun nach heutigem Verständnis eine potentielle Erhöhung des Risikos für arteriosklerotisch ausgelöste kardiovaskuläre Komplikationen, vor allem für die koronare Herzkrankheit [1, 5, 35, 42, 48]. Daher wird zunehmend die Frage diskutiert, ob die unter Beta-Rezeptoren-Blockade möglichen Veränderungen der Serum-Lipide den therapeutischen Nutzen der Beta-Blocker einschränken oder gar aufheben können. In dieser Verallgemeinerung ist diese Frage nun zu verneinen; denn es gibt keine Studie, welche eine klinisch faßbare Bedeutung dieser biochemischen Befunde aufdeckt. Jedoch bedarf die Diskussion und Beantwortung dieser Frage einer differenzierteren Antwort.
