Abstract
The question whether nitrates influence prognosis in patients with coronary heart disease cannot be answered from the tentative data available to date from a small group of researchers (Bussmann 1980a; Bussmann et al. 1980a; Bussmann and Giebeler 1983; Bussmann and Haller 1983; Chatterjee et al. 1976; Chiche et al. 1929; Derrida et al. 1978; Flaherty et al. 1980; D. Bennett, 1982, personal communication). At best, these pilot studies can serve to stimulate new trials with larger patient populations.
