Abstract
In general, tillage means that forces are applied to the soil by a tool surface. Applied forces can be great or small and surfaces large or small. For the reaction of the soil the absolute value of force or surface will not be predominant, rather the force per unit area, or force-intensity will be. A high intensity will ca use strong compaction, high strains and/or intensive crumbling.
