Zusammenfassung
Erste Erfahrungen in der spinalen Diagnostik mit der Computertomographie (CT) beschränkten sich vorwiegend auf die Darstellung des kranio-zervikalen Übergangs und des zervikalen Spinalkanals (Balériaux et al., 1977; Di Chiro und Schellinger, 1976). Das Verfahren ist nunmehr in der Diagnostik des gesamten Spinalkanals, vor allem der lumbo-sakralen Abschnitte etabliert (Haughton und Williams, 1982; Lee et al., 1978; Pettersson und Harwood-Nash, 1982). Die zunehmende Interpretationssicherheit computertomographischer Befunde machte die Methode sowohl für den Nachweis spinaler und paraspinaler Raumforderungen als auch degenerativer und dysplastischer Veränderungen des Spinalkanals wertvoll. Fehlinterpretationen sind besonders bei lumbo-sakralen Dysplasien, der Differentialdiagnose entzündlicher spinaler Prozesse sowie bei Bandscheibenvorfällen möglich und sollen anhand einzelner Beispiele dargestellt werden.
