Abstract
Propafenone is a potent antiarrhythmic agent with a strong membrane-stabilizing effect (Fill et al. 1977; Zeiler et al. 1981) which has been commercially available in Europe since 1977 under the trade name Rytmonorm. Clinical studies have indicated effectiveness in suppressing chronic recurrent supraventricular and ventricular tachyarrhythmias and ectopic beats (Aldor and Haeger 1977; Baedeker et al. 1977; Harlin 1976; Koch 1977).
