Abstract

The theory developed in Chap. 5 leads to new conservation laws for counter travelling in nonlinear resonant media (Sect. 5.1) which are not reducible to the well-known laws of conservation of energy and momentum. They permit, in particular, the use of closed-form expressions for investigations into the structure of fields in media with an arbitrary degree of nonlinearity.
