Zusammenfassung
Eine medizinische Katastrophe ist eine Situation, die uns personell und materiell so überfordert, daß wir keine effektvolle Hilfe bringen können. Es ist Aufgabe des Arztes, durch Triage und Planung seiner Therapieeinsätze möglichst viele Patienten am Leben zu erhalten. Dazu gehört auch die Vorausplanung einer entsprechenden Organisation am Katastrophenort, in der Region unter Berücksichtigung der verfügbaren Spitäler, eventuell über Landesgrenzen hinaus, und im eigenen Spital. Der allgemeine Organisationsplan ist katastrophenspezifisch, nicht verbrennungsspezifisch. Die Grundlagen für eine mögliche Behandlung Verbrannter sollen hier erarbeitet werden.
