Zusammenfassung

1944 nahm Crafoord die erste erfolgreiche Resektion einer Aortenisthmusstenose vor [7], Die Resektion der Koarktation stellt nach wie vor die Methode der Wahl dar; zur Korrektur der anatomischen Varianten der Aortenisthmusstenose wurden jedoch eine Reihe weiterer Operationstechniken entwickelt. Das Ziel all dieser Verfahren ist es, den Druckgradienten der Isthmusstenose auf Dauer zu beseitigen und einen normalen, pulsatilen Blutfluß zur unteren Körperhälfte herzustellen.
