Zusammenfassung

Die Raman-Spektrometrie dient der Aufklärung von Molekülstrukturen. Die Möglichkeit einer Raman-Spektroskopie wurde von Lommel 1871 und von Smekal 1923 vorausgesagt und von 1925 bis 1927 von Kramers, Heisenberg, Schrödinger und Dirac theoretisch behandelt. Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman (1888–1970, Nobelpreisträger für Physik 1930) entdeckte die Methode 1928.
