Zusammenfassung

Die präparative Schichtchromatographie (PSC) unterscheidet sich von der analytischen Dünnschicht-Chromatographie (DC) durch ihre Zielsetzung.1 Während in der DC meistens Mikrogramm- oder Nanogramm-Mengen getrennt werden, um qualitative und quantitative Informationen über die Zusammensetzung der untersuchten Probe zu gewinnen, werden mit PSC höhere Substanzmengen eingesetzt, damit einzelne Komponenten im mg-Bereich rein dargestellt werden können. Solche Isolierungen werden durchgeführt, um unbekannte Komponenten mit spektroskopischen Methoden zu identifizieren oder um Substanzen zu reinigen und als Ausgangsmaterial für weitere Synthesen oder Untersuchungen zu haben.
