Corneocytes Size as An Indirect Measure of Epidermal Proliferative Activity

  • Conference paper

Abstract

Since horny cells are continually being shed from the skin surface, it is a relatively simple matter to collect these corneocytes without harm or inconvenience to the donor and to examine them in a variety of ways. A great deal of information can be obtained about the structure and function of the stratum corneum and the underlying viable epidermis by using these exfoliative cytological procedures [4, 5, 8].
