Abstract
It is a well-known fact in the field of rehabilitation, that less people go back to work after successful medical treatment than could be expected for medical reasons. For instance, in a group of patients after successful open-heart surgery we found that from the patients with valvular replacements and shunts one-quarter had not yet resumed work in the span between 6 and 32 months after surgery [2].
