Myocardial Hypertrophy — Development and Regression

  • Chapter
Myocarditis Cardiomyopathy

Part of the book series: International Boehringer Mannheim Symposia ((BOEHRINGER))

Abstract

The heart is an unusually robust and adaptable organ. It adapts to chronic overload by an increase in muscle mass. An ideal compensation is attained, when in the hypertrophic heart the volume unit of myocardium is working under normal conditions and development of tension.
