Zusammenfassung
Im theoretischen Teil erfolgt die prädikative Erörterung des psychophysiologischen Funktionsmodells, das unseren empirischen Untersuchungen zugrundeliegt. Die neurophysiologisch repräsentierte Vigilanz ist hierbei als Korrelat der funktionalen Entität „Gehirn“ dargestellt. Davon ausgehend wird anhand exemplarischer Untersuchungen die Reversibilität globaler Hirnfunktionsstörungen nachgewiesen und die dem Gehirn inhärente funktionelle Modulationsfähigkeit als therapeutisch nutzbares Prinzip dargelegt. Abschließend werden die neu gewonnenen Erkenntnisse in Form eines therapeutischen Wirkmodells zusammengefaßt.
