Zusammenfassung

Aufgrund baulicher Gegebenheiten ist in vielen Dialysezentren eine strikte räumliche Trennung von Hepatitis B Surface Antigen (HBsAg)-positiven und -negativen Patienten nicht möglich, so daß trotz Einhaltens allgemeiner hygienischer Maßnahmen häufig Hepatitis B-Erkrankungen unter Dialysepatienten und -personal vorkommen. Die Jahresberichte der European Dialysis and Transplant Association vermelden in den letzten Jahren eine unverändert hohe Infektionsrate unter dem Dialysepersonal mit über 700 Neuerkrankungen pro Jahr und tödlichem Verlauf in einigen Fällen [8].
