Abstract

For tumours of bone and soft tissue, CT enables differentiation between primary and metastatic lesions in anatomically complex regions such as the pelvis and the thigh. An intramedullary density difference of 20 HU between the limbs should lead us to check for a metastasis, but is not specific. Such a difference may result from infection, and clinical and pathological factors should be taken into account.
