Zusammenfassung

Unter einem Volvulus versteht man eine Torsion des Darmes um seine eigene oder häufiger um seine Mesenterialachse [6, 8]. Dadurch kann es zu einer partiellen oder totalen Lumenobstruktion und/oder zur Strangulation mit Beeinträchtigung der Blutversorgung und Gangrän kommen.
