Zusammenfassung

Der Begriff „akute Cholecystitis“ umfaßt ein weites Spektrum entzündlicher Veränderungen der Gallenblasenwand, die zu einer akuten Oberbauchsymptomatik führen. In der initial ödematös verdickten und hyperämischen Gallenblase können sich im weiteren Verlauf Hämorrhagien, Abscesse und Nekrosen unterschiedlichen Schweregrades ausbilden. Je nach Dominanz dieser vielgestaltigen morphologischen Veränderungen wird eine Einteilung in eine serös-fibrinöse, serös-purulente, phlegmonöse, nekrotisierende, ulcerierende und emphysematöse Cholecystitis vorgenommen [7]. Das Gallenblasenempyem stellt die durch eine Infektion hervorgerufene entzündliche Form des Hydrops dar.
