Zusammenfassung

Die therapeutischen Maßnahmen erfordernde Varicenblutung ist massiv oder mit der treffenderen englischen Bezeichnung „exigent“, wenn der Blutverlust in 24 h 1 500 ml (1/3 des zirkulierenden Volumens) beträgt, wenn das Hämoglobin unter 7 g-% abfällt und die Verabreichung von 5 oder mehr Bluttransfusionen zu 500 ml notwendig ist.
